You're my best friend... by HyperWaddleDee You're my best friend... by HyperWaddleDee
First submission! Let's get this party started!

Context: www.fanfiction.net/s/7606680/1…
This is a redraw of my fanfiction's cover. I intend for this to replace the old cover for the next update. Flan/Marisa OTP forever! (Though it's not like I don't ship Alice/Patchouli/Marisa or Reimu/Marisa or Flandre/Meiling or...)

It's a little sloppy (okay, a lot sloppy), but I intend to redraw it later, so that doesn't bug me too much right now.

Programs used:
Procreate 2.0.2
Popsicolor 2.2 (for the background)

I take it Marisa simply decided to become an immortal the easy way that would come at the cost of her humanity for Flandre (vampire wings)? Heh. I imagine Sakuya doing the same for Remi...

Long story short, I felt this was the natural conclusion of her stealing books from a vampire's mansion on a regular basis. I always imagined Flandre as the dark horse of Marisa’s little harem. If Flan ever decided to turn her, there’s not much anyone can do to stop it. One thing's for sure: the ensuing Alice vs. Flandre danmaku match would be awesome.

Personally, I stray away from the fanon Alice (as a whole) and the fanon interpretation of Marisa being a harem master. Andikindashipmarisawithreimu. And that would depend on how much power Alice would unlock. Flandre has enough control of her power to NOT blow everything up, and in canon, Alice only fights with slightly more power than her opponent. Keeps things interesting. Just that she'd probably have to go all-out if Eiki came along to say hi...
I always thought the natural conclusion was either Patchy bribing Reimu to keep Marisa from doing it (okay, Alice, in your case) or Patchy putting up a Marisa-proof barrier around Voile. But to each their own...

Yeah, fanon Alice can get to be too much of a walking cliche for my tastes as well. As you said, to each their own.

I ship almost every ship there is, so I just roll with the various character harems. Good choice with ReiMari. They’re really the peanut butter and jelly of the series. So different, yet what would they be without each other?

I don’t really care what the circumstances are, I just want to watch them duke it out. Perhaps I’ll draw it myself someday, but I’m not at that level yet. : P

That and fanon literally makes Alice the exact OPPOSITE of what she is in canon. Yeah, fans actually believe Alice is a creepy tsundere/yandere that is more than willing to place Marisa's soul into a doll if she can have her all to herself. Then again, they also believe Flan is completely insane, buuuut she turned out pretty well, given that she stayed in the basement out of love for 495 years...
My OTP is actually RemiSaku. Now, most interpret that Reimu and Marisa are each other's drive to be better (fanon says Marisa is jealous. I just say they admire each other that much). In a literal sense, what would Sakuya Izayoi be without Remilia Scarlet? Probably a jaded vampire hunter looking for a decent purpose in life...
Maybe Alice decided to try and steal Patchy's books on immortality while retaining humanity as a peace offering/wishing well present to Reimu and Marisa, and they led her to the basement to an abnormally grumpy Flandre?...

Tsundere I can see an argument for, but yandere Alice is just weird. I just can’t imagine her doing the stereotypical yandere things. For the sake of comedy, perhaps, but still… it’s just so unfitting.

I think in the early days of Touhou, it was mentioned somewhere in the read-me text that Marisa was jealous, but I agree, it’s definitely evolved away from that by now.

RemiSaku is definitely a fave of mine~ I prefer to think that Sakuya came to the SDM while she was still quite young, in no small part thanks to all the cute Sakuya-as-a-kid doujins out there. It’s an interesting concept, Remi watching Sakuya grow and mature, while she herself stays frozen in age. I’m partial to vampire hunting theory, too. Not sure what to make of the Lunarian theory, though.

Hmm, maybe.

Yeah...And I can't see Alice being willing to stitch Marisa's soul in a Marisa doll so Reimu couldn't have her...
Well, she probably was a little jealous back in the PC-98 era, when she was still under the tutelage/servitude of Mima. Well, besides the thoughts of, "She's cute. Why do I have to be on the opposite side?!" she could have had in SoEW. Even back then, Reimu's natural power was enough to resolve incidents, even if she couldn't fly, and even before Yukari gave her a taste of her true power (summoning gods). Oh, and I'm not of the camp that thinks Yukari is evil. In terms of Gensokyo...Neutral while leaning more towards the youkai. I also think she helped raise Reimu. Well, she did most of the motherly raising. The mother trained her on the bare basics of duty and vanished before she could tell Reimu about their god. I also tend to believe that the virginity thing is not a thing for the Hakurei, and the "equality" thing only applies to humans and youkai in general (as she does), but she can still have romance...
Eirin was surprised to see Sakuya, implying she knew her. ZUN's answer to that was essentially, "...Maybe. But I need that for a future game." And again, I'd think if they fall in love, Sakuya would reconsider becoming a vampire. Remi would probably be willing to overeat and vomit all the next day if it meant she didn't have to see her lover die. No matter what Sakuya is, at this point, she does age. Maybe she'd get even more intimidating without having to use the Luna Dial to slow down her aging...
